Shoutcasting – A Beginner’s Guide
What is shoutcasting?
Shoutcasting is the term used to describe the process of commentating on the events of a game in real time – just like a sports commentator – and breaking down the gameplay that occurs with insightful analysis and knowledgeable explanations. In Vainglory, there are a few important areas to track as a shoutcaster:
Nova eSports Interview
“This team still has a lot of potential we can tap into.” – BLG3RNT
Coming into the Spring Split 2 challenge battles as the first seed, the team formerly known as RagePingers chose to face off against Rogue to take their spot in the Vainglory8 (VG8). Before the matches even began, they were picked up by pro gaming organization Nova eSports. With the hype of their recent acquisition propelling them forward, Nova came out with a 3-2 victory and secured a spot in the league. Fast forwarding into summer, Nova are now ranked #3 in NA and will be at the Summer Unified Live Finals in Los Angeles.
Seeing as this was the team’s first Live appearance, EZL caught up with them to learn more about their story of how they got here, learn about the team and talk to them about Vainglory. What follows is an interview with the starting roster: starboi (captain), Truth (Laner), LoneDelphi (Jungler) and BLG3RNT (coach/analyst).
EZL MASTER LEAGUE SEASON 2
During the establishment of EZL LLC, we were focused on bringing an experience like never before to the Vainglory community. One of the first things you may think about EZL is our slogan: the League for Everyone, and that’s what we’ve created with our unique EZL Draft League in regions across the world. Now, it’s time to review one of our other endeavors. EZL Master League represents the team-based leagues that we want to provide for all players, and we’re currently nurturing it with all of our attention. Immortals are now living up to their name. After a defeat at the hands of Los Baboons (now Echo Fox) during last season’s Challenger’s Split, they hit what seems to be their lowest point. Soon after, changes had to be made, and the Captain and Jungler (Vains and Aloh4) were dropped from the roster. Coach SuiJeneris and Laner DNZio were kept to rebuild the team. Surprisingly, Immortals acquired Hammers’ Jungler ttigers (proven aggressive jungler who won the first Vainglory live Championship), the new Captain MaxGreen (a “sleeping giant” of talent). They also acquired a newer face called Xelciar as a sub, and have thus brought new life into the team. Immediately following the news, this team was undoubtedly seen as being capable of easily making it through the Vainglory Invitational Series (VIS) league brackets to jump back into the Vainglory8 (VG8). The new hero Grace has now been out on the Halcyon Fold for over a month, with her kit already making a significant impact on the meta. This analysis of the holy paladin will teach you how to stain the Fold red with blood, just like the flowers on the Grace Islands. Reviewing the Gauntlet
In a surprising turn of events, Cloud9 (C9) has beaten ROX Armada (previously Invincible Armada) in the final stage of the 2017 Mobile Masters Invitational at the Prudential Center in New York. Armada nearly completed the “Run the Gauntlet” challenge, defeating four teams in succession – Tempo Storm, Tribe Gaming, GankStars and NRG – before ultimately falling to the last boss of the gauntlet, Cloud9. This was surprising to me, as in my eyes, Invincible Armada had always been just that: invincible. So, what led to this outcome? Continue reading “Reviewing the Gauntlet”
With the Vainglory Summer season starting this weekend, it will be interesting to see which North American teams go on to become the next champions. Quite a few changes happened over the break between the Western Unified Spring Championship and now. These team changes, acquisitions, and roster alterations have made the outcome of the North American Vainglory8 far less predictable than in the past. Continue reading “Set for the summer?
