EZL Vainglory 8 Rules And Regulations

EZL Master League Rules and Regulations

General Overview

Please review these Official EZL Master League Rules and Regulations, before registering for the Tournament, and again immediately prior to your first Game. Please be advised that these terms are subject to change, as determined by the Organizers in their sole discretion. In the event of changes, updates will be provided via the website and discord, and as otherwise communicated by the Organizers. All rules are subject to change as needed. Other formats and administrative information are also subject to change as new information becomes available.

EZL maintains final ruling on any disputes that may arise. Any matters of consequence not outlined in this document may be addressed by Organizers at the time of the incident. After the incident and matches are completed and a team believes, the situation was mishandled by an Organizer, they have the right to appeal the decision by contacting Lead Organizers. All rulings are considered final.

Warning System

Anyone found to be in violation of these rules and regulations will receive a warning, and after 3 warnings you will be permanently banned from EZL. Organizers may ban someone and forego the 3 warnings depending on the severity of the issue at hand. At EZL, we do not disrespect or harass anyone, whether they are a member or not. We show inspiring sportsmanship and we take constructive criticism well; we all have something to learn. All public posts, comments, and chats are required to be PG friendly. Therefore, the following behavior is not allowed, among other things.

  • Profanity
  • Slurs
  • Player shaming
  • Nudity
  • Inappropriate behavior

Smurfing

Smurf accounts are strictly not allowed in EZL. Players found smurfing will have ALL of their accounts removed from the team, banned in the future (even on their main account), and are subject to additional punishment.

Multiple Rosters

Teams and players can only apply once. If it is demonstrated that a player is playing on two different teams in the same league, the player will be removed from the rosters immediately and further action may be taken if necessary.

Requirements To Participate

All members are required to have the ability to play in draft mode (8 heroes unlocked, level 10 account).

Application And Confirmation

In order to have their team confirmed, all players are required to join the EZL BAND our sponsor. All team members must leave a comment on the Team Confirmation Post. Failure to do so will result in losing any and all ICE from the season.

Player/Name Trade/Swap Process

Players are not allowed to change to another team during a split to prevent any sort of abuse. In order to consider a team as the same team and not a different team after roster or team name changes, the team must meet certain requirements. It is highly recommended to pick your team name after much consideration, as changing a team name will only be allowed between splits. To remain in the league division and not lose any ICE previously earned in the league, a team must meet at least 2 of these 3 conditions:

  • Have at least 50% of the original players
  • Have the same team name
  • A minimum of 3 players have to be on the roster, 5 are recommended.

If you want to replace or add new players to your team, please leave a message on the #roster-change channel. A Lead Organizer will process this as soon as possible. The message should have the following format:

Team Name / Region:

IGNs Needed to be Removed :
   1)
   2)
   …

IGNs Needed to be Added :
   1)
   2)
   …

Players are unable to participate in a match if they were not added/changed with at least 24 hours before a scheduled match.

Match Process

All EZL rules and regulations still apply to the in-game party chat while EZL matches are being set up. If there are any issues regarding a player’s conduct, provide evidence and contact an Organizer. If a team has consistent issues with either scheduling or making match times, Organizers will look into the issue and if necessary, take action.

Spectators

Spectators (other than approved impartial streamers, casters, recorders, organizers) are strictly prohibited. Any team found in violation of this rule is subject to forfeiture and strict observation in future series, as well as a possible ban from EZL. Members are encouraged to stream or record their matches. If an EZL organizer or streamer is not available and a recording is deemed necessary, there may be a potential reward of ICE for anyone providing the best footage and allowing the use of footage to EZL.

Scheduling

All matches are automatically scheduled for the last possible time of the match. For example, a round 1 match is automatically scheduled for Wed 10:30 PM (Timezone depends on region). Team Captains are allowed to reschedule this time to anytime before this matchup with at least 24 hours notice. Matches scheduled less than 24 hours in advance are subject to go un-streamed, as well as possibly being invalidated and required to be rescheduled. When matches are scheduled by both captains, an Organizer must be contacted.

If a team is late to their scheduled match, the first game’s victory will be awarded 10 minutes after the scheduled time, and a second game-winner will be awarded at 20 minutes past the scheduled time. It is recommended to organize your team at least 10 minutes prior to your scheduled match time. Please send a message to the in-game party chat to provide evidence of a team being unprepared at each interval, and take screenshots of the time. Schedules are made by the teams, you are expected to show up on time for a match you scheduled. The members that were scheduled to play in that match are also subject to penalities of ICE payouts.

Draft Rules

If a draft fails to be completed, all players will be invited again and the draft restarted. The draft picks that were previously chosen must be locked in again. If a draft fails to be completed three (3) times, the offending player will be removed and a replacement will have to be found. If a replacement cannot be found, the offending team will be required to forfeit.

Lag/AFK Responsibility And Pause Feature

It is a responsibility of all players to have a stable Internet connection. If your match is streamed by select individuals who have been given access to the pause feature, your match may be paused for a maximum of 2 minutes. In order to request a pause, please contact the streamer.

Evidence Of Match Completion

If a match is completed and there is no record of it (no screenshots, unstreamed, or broken API), the missing games will be required to be replayed, even if they did not affect the outcome of the series. Provide evidence of both your wins and your losses, and there will be no issues. Always take screenshots!

Unlisted Players

If a team uses a player that is not on their team or allows unauthorized access to a player’s account, they will forfeit the match, forfeit any games the offending player participated in and may be subject to additional sanctions and punishment depending on the severity of the situation. Changing In Game Names are allowed throughout the season, however, proof of the same account will be required. Recommend: Proving the account is the same by using https://vgpro.gg

In the event that a team has less than three players available, they will have to either forfeit the match or wait for players to become available before the forfeit time. 1v3s are strictly not allowed, as they are a waste of time for the players involved.

SGT

All matches not played by that time will result in 0 points each and a possible ICE penalty. By default, matches are scheduled at fixed times as listed above. However, teams may reschedule this match with 24 hours notice. If a captain decides to play at those times, the other captain is obliged to do so. Ordinary match rules and regulations apply. The deadline may be altered based on the region and season to try and avoid any and all potential conflict with other competitions. If a deadline is changed, it will be announced on the discord server.

Reporting Results

To show all match results you are required to send a screenshot from https://vgpro.gg in the #reportyourwins showing your match. You can also use EZLBot if necessary as well. If the API breaks then there will be no data; therefore, screenshots will be required for matches. For the majority of cases, there will be no need for such actions.

Streaming

After both teams agree on a time to play their series, captains must contact an Organizer who will coordinate with the streamers and casters to have the match streamed.

EZL Unique Streaming System

EZL has a unique stream system where we help grow content creators to allow them to have the ability to stream these matches on their channels as opposed to the EZL channel. Due to this system, we do not allow teams to select or choose which streamer will stream them, as that could allow a potential for cheating. Streamers will be selected based on availability and other factors.

Organizer Spectators Recording

If a streamer and caster crew are not available to be able to stream the match when scheduled, the next priority will be to find an EZL Approved Organizer that will be recording the match, which will be uploaded to the EZL Youtube in the future for records.

How To Get Your Matches Streamed

Captain

Captains will be held to the highest of standards of conduct, respect, and cooperative attitude. Captains who do not wish to be held to these standards or do not wish to take on the listed responsibilities and more should not apply. Other responsibilities may be added as needed, and may also exist in different sections of this roadmap.

  • Keep up to date with all current information.
  • Be aware of announcements, changes, and important matters, as well as make their team aware such information.

Community members still have the same responsibilities to keep it clean and follow all EZL rules and regulations, but they do not have any listed tasks. They get to be the fans, cheering from the sidelines, and providing hype and buzz for EZL and their favorite players!

League Format

EZL Masters is a league intended for any competitive team from any skill level to compete in a similar fashion as the professionals. As weekly brackets are single elimination and groups are composed of 8 teams, this implies three rounds. An example bracket is shown below:

Schedule Overview

No. Phase Duration
1 Preseason (Registration) 2 Weeks
2 Split 1 4 Weeks
3 Challenge Battles 1 Week
4 Split 2 3 Weeks
5 Championship Week 1 Week
6 Challenge Battles 1 Week

Preseason

Duration: 2 weeks.

There are no matches during the pre-season. This time is meant for teams to apply and get registered with all the stuff they will need to participate in EZL. Teams will be organized into the following Divisions.

Divisions from top to bottom will be:

  1. EZL Masters
  2. Challengers Group Aries
  3. Challengers Group Gemini
  4. Challengers Group Libra
  5. Challengers Group Scorpio

In order to remember which division is on top, division names are sorted alphabetically. If more than 40 teams apply, more divisions will be added to accommodate.

Split 1

Duration: 4 weeks.

Each week, a team will participate in a division, competing against 7 other teams in a tournament with three rounds. Each series will be a best of 3 matchups. Game 1 and Game 2 will be in draft mode with teams switching sides of the draft between each. The team that is the highest seed gets to choose which side of the draft they would like to be on first if they so choose to use this privilege.  Game 3 will always be a Blind pick. Each game will count towards the Standings with the points system, which will be used to decide the seeding for the playoffs.

In the challenger’s brackets, each week teams will be reorganized in the divisions based on their outcome in the previous weeks. In the Masters bracket, the teams will not be reorganized weekly but will be playing a round robin styled season where each team will start off playing against the other team.

Challenge Battles

The top 4 teams, with the most points from the challenger’s brackets, will be competing against the bottom 4 teams from the Masters Division. To start, the 4 challenger teams will pick their opponents in order of seeds. The Number 1 Challenger team will pick their opponent, then the second seed will pick their opponents and so on. If a challenger team wins their matchup, they will be taking all the points earned by the Masters team and continuing in the second split and the Masters team will be moving down to the challenger’s brackets.

Split 2

Duration: 3 weeks.

This will be the same as Split 1, however only 3 weeks.

Championship Week

The seeding for the championship week in the Masters Bracket will be decided by the points gained throughout Split 1 and Split 2. The teams will compete against each other in a single elimination bracket to decide the season champions.

Challenge Battles #2

This is the final week of the season and is played similar to the first Challenge Battles. The top 4 Challenger teams will be competing against the bottom 4 Masters teams in order to steal their spot for the following season.

Rewards/Prizes

Total Seasonal Prize is determined based on the number of teams that participate in the league. For every 8 teams, the prize pool is raised by 45,000 ICE.

Disputes

Any disputes made during match times will be resolved by a moderator/organizer who is given permission to make that decision at that time. They will Have THE FINAL SAY! Once they make a decision, that decision will be followed and no complaining any further. You do have the right to file a dispute with the lead organizers and they will invite both captains into a role called Disputes in a private channel with all staff in order to help resolve any disputes. If the decision needs overturning because the moderator made a mistake then it will be resolved. However, as members, it is your responsibility to understand, know and follow the EZL rules by reading the Rules and Regulations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why aren’t spectators allowed?

EZL doesn’t restrict teams on which methods they can use to communicate. This also means that EZL cannot tell who is communicating with your team. If another person were allowed to spectate, it could possibly make for very unfair circumstances. A non-player could coach by watching a streamed match (which is shown with a stream delay) or simply communicating in a voice chat with the team without any penalty, but the power to see the entire game live is too abusable.

What happens if both captains don’t schedule their matches?

Both captains get the loss. If this happens often for the same captain or captains, a possible ICE penalty may be applied by the organization.

When will I receive the ICE?

ICE transfers will always occur at the end of the season. The requests are usually sent with 48 hours of completion of the post-season Challengers Week. The players must confirm their in-game names(IGN) to make sure they are accurate at the end of the season. If the member does not update their information before the time that ICE transfers are requested, the ICE is subject to forfeit. Once requests are sent they normally take about 1-2 weeks to process and to be sent to your account. Depending on the volume and availability, it can take a bit longer. If you do not receive your ICE after 1 month after the completion date of Playoffs, please contact a Lead Organizer immediately.

Can players be subbed in/out during a BO3 series?

Yes, you can change any player you want; the only prerequisite is that they must belong to your team roster.

Can captains play?

Yes, they can. Any team may have as many members of their team as they wish. However, only 5 players may be on the team roster, and only the players on the roster may participate. For example, a team may have 3 players, 2 rosters, a coach, and 2 analysts. However, only 5 of these may be on the team roster that can play in the matches.

Must all team players be in EZL Band?

Yes, it is a requirement, they are our cherished sponsor.
